What's up friends! I'm Blake, the Owner, Designer, and Brains behind The Haven Event Space located in Louisburg, KS! I'll never forget the night a vision and dream was put on my heart to build this venue. After many years, endless studying, prayers, tears, and straight up figure-it-out mentality, The Haven Event Space has become a reality. In my free time, you will find me snuggling my dinosaur sized dogs, Phin & Phiona, and probably eating very spicy Thai Food! We cannot wait to host your dream event and help every single vision you have come to life.
Taylor Hendrickson
Hey y’all! My name is Taylor and I am the Venue Manager for The Haven Event Space. I have loved working with vendors and brides so I am excited to be a part of the new premier venue in Kansas City.
I started as a bridal stylist, transitioned to helping vendors behind the scenes, and now I get the best of both worlds! In my free time, I love to hike with my Aussies Chase and Ghost and you will frequently find me with my head buried in a good book! I can't wait to help make all of your event dreams come true!
ABOUT THE OWNER
The Haven is owned by Blake Harris. He and his wife both come from homes with successful business owners as parents, so it was only natural that they follow in their parents footsteps. The Haven was Blake's dream turned reality and he custom designed it from the ground up, every detail meticulously thought of, with YOU in mind.
Blake grew up in Louisburg, KS and graduated from Louisburg High School. As a child, his father built custom log homes and planted a love inside Blake for the country, all things rustic, and custom construction. Blake went on to pursue a career in the Human Resources field where he utilized his love of people, energetic personality, and passion for small businesses to create and inspire culture within his company.
Along the way, Blake met Abby, a cute little nurse from Springfield, MO who had just moved to KC with her family. Abby grew up as one of five siblings on a farm in the country and was homeschooled by her parents. Her father owns an engineering company and even assisted with the construction of the venue. Abby's caring heart, sweet spirit, and insane baking skills told Blake "she's the one". Exactly a year after they met, they were married in April of 2014.
The Harris' purchased The Haven's 40 acres in February 2020 with plans of building a breathtaking indoor and outdoor event space for family, friends, and all of Kansas City to enjoy. Today Blake & Abby live in Paola, KS with their son, Lincoln, and their two Alaskan Malamutes, Phin & Phiona, who you are sure to meet! This is their story, and they cannot wait to help you write yours.
